Thankful Thursday: Veteran's Day

Today I'm especially grateful for our military vets. We have a lot of them in our family and in no particular order, I'd like to acknowledge and thank them for their service to our country.

Veteran's Day

I come from a long line of veterans; both of my grandfathers, my grandmother, my father, and my uncle all served our country proudly. George's grandfather, sister, and brother in law are also a Veteran--and in honor of all of them, let me say Happy Veteran's Day to all veterans and thank you for ensuring our freedom. God bless you all!

Allow myself to introduce...myself

I'm Chrissi and I'm the momma :) I love to blog, cook, read, teach, volunteer, and listen to Sarah McLachlan-some would even say I'm obsessed with her...

I feel really strongly about special needs advocacy, abolishing the "r" word, having a strong, tight family, and a good solid marriage.

Geo would be the daddy around here...he's sometimes called "HH" (as in, Hunky Hubby)He's also "HH" to Gabe, as in the "homework helper" or maybe that's the Hockey hound...not quite sure...he works for General Mills and loves it.

Gabriel McGee aka McGooch, Birdy, bird person, etc etc is our nine year old. He's starting fourth grade, loves to read, is our resident Lincoln expert, and has a scruffy stuffed dog that comes to life when we're not around...watch out "Calvin and Hobbes" here comes Gabe and Sam!

SarahAnne, who's usually referred to as Bitsy in these parts (and in real life-in fact, she usually introduces herself as Bitsy!) is Trouble. She's six and a half going on sixteen, she's funny as all get out, incredibly smart , and is always blaming the crocodiles for her naughty behavior...and she going to be in first grade this year and is so so happy about it!

Boni cat is our furry baby; he's a crabby old man cat, as we call him and can usually be found on Gabe's bed snoozing whether or not Gabe is in bed. Mr. Naughty Kitty also has an affinity for nibbling on plants! Our other black kitty is Bam (aka "itty") and he's, in a word, dumb. He's energetic, bouncy, furry and allows Bits to put him in a stroller and dress him up. Poor thing.

Betsy has been the one and only puppy face in the house for a year now and I think we're finally adjusted to being dog owners. She's dumb to be sure but also the sweetest animal on the face of the planet...the complete opposite of Nibbler who's been here nearly a year and has finally decided that *I* can touch him but not much and only on his terms. We're fairly sure he doesn't like us and still harbors resentment for being the only non B named pet in the family, though he is referred to by all of us as "Bibby" or "Bibbers" apparently that's just a slap in his stripey gray face...oh well.
